Community Voices and consent
Taking part in Community Voices is voluntary.
You may submit an experience without providing your name or email address. However, details within an account may still identify you or someone else, so complete anonymity cannot be guaranteed.
Please do not include medical record numbers, copies of medical records, names of other patients or staff, or other details that could identify another person.
Your information will not be published, quoted publicly or shared as an individual account with healthcare organisations, journalists or decision-makers without your separate, explicit permission, except where disclosure is required by law or necessary to respond to a serious and immediate safety risk.
Agreeing to be contacted does not mean agreeing to public use of your story.
Who may access information
Community Voices submissions are received and stored using Wix Forms.
They may be accessible to the campaign's site administrator and any authorised site collaborators whose permissions allow access to form submissions. Wix and its service providers may also process information to operate and secure the website.
We aim to limit access to people who genuinely need it for campaign administration.
We do not sell Community Voices submissions or contact details.
Storage and overseas processing
Because our website is hosted through Wix, information may be stored or processed outside Australia.
Wix identifies several possible international data-storage locations and service providers. We cannot promise that information will remain in Australia.
No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security or anonymity.
How long information is kept
We intend to retain personal information only while it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including relevant campaign administration and follow-up.
Information that is no longer needed will be reviewed for deletion or de-identification, subject to applicable legal requirements and technical limitations, including backups.
Access, correction and deletion requests
You may contact us to ask about personal information you have submitted, request a correction or ask that it be deleted.
Please email listenbeforeyoudismiss@gmail.com with the subject Privacy Request.
We will take reasonable steps to consider and respond to your request.
If you submitted without contact details, it may be difficult to locate or verify which submission belongs to you. Please provide only the minimum information needed to help identify it.
Privacy concerns
If you have concerns about how the campaign has handled your information, please email us using the contact address above.
We will review the concern and respond as reasonably practicable. Where applicable, external privacy complaint options may also be available.
Cookies and website services
Wix and services used to operate this website may use cookies and other technical tools for website functionality, security and analytics.
We will review the website's cookie and privacy settings before publication and update this policy if necessary.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the campaign, website or information-handling practices develop.
